Album review - Share The Love : an indie mix by Devin

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

In a world where the music industries of this time are more into those gangsta hip hop rap, i find this album to be really refreshing (eventhough Indie music has been around for quite some times). To those who likes to listen to OAG or Nice Stupid Playground should love this one. Share The Love - An Indie Mix by Devon consist of 17 tracks from various artists that many of mainstream music listeners are unfamiliar with. But let me assured you that it doesn't mean that their music are not great to listen to.

The Music Tracks
1. Enter the Haggis, "Gasoline"
2. The Decemberists, "16 Military Wives"
3. Crooked Fingers, "Call to Love"
4. Robbers on High Street, "Spanish Teeth"
5. Devin Davis, "Iron Woman"
6. Eux Autres, "The Sundance Kid"
7. Spiraling, "Lightning Twice"
8. Robbers on High Street, "Japanese Girls"
9. Eux Autres, "Other Girls"
10. Dr. Dog, "The World May Never Know"
11. Devin Davis, "Deserted Eyeland"
12. Okay, "Compass"
13. The Decemberists, "The Sporting Life"
14. The Prayers and Tears of Arthur Digby Sellers, "Concerning Lessons Learned from the Aliens"
15. Band of Horses, "Monsters"
16. The Prayers and Tears of Arthur Digby Sellers, "Against Pollution (Mountain Goats cover)"
17. Bellglide, "Go Ahead"

The 1st song "gasoline" by Enter the Haggis is fun country music like song that would make you want to do step dance. I know i would do that if i'm not in the office right now listening to the track. -__-
"16 military wives" by Decemberists has a catchy tunes that won't get off from my head.. ' and the anchor person on tv.. goes la di da di da di du di du di da~~'
"Call to love" by Crooked Fingers is one of my favourite.. (its an avarage indie music i guess, but nothing to complain about)
"Spanish Teeth" by Robbers on High Street (What's with these people and their band names??) I don't really know what this song is about but i enjoy it very much. hehee. (yeah, i'm a lousy reviewer)

blah dih blah dah.. overall this album has 4 / 5 stars from me.. very recommendable for anyone that's into indie music or anyone who's sick of hearing those gangsta loving, gung tottling, look at me fondling a bunch of girls hip hop music. ;]

Plus it has a really nice art cover.

Share The Love people!!!
